The Uganda project was a tremendous experience, and I think I have learnt so much from the people I met over there.
It is very difficult for the students to get a good education for many reasons but the key problem is class size. All the classes have over 50 students in them; this makes it very difficult for any teacher student interaction and also makes it difficult to hear if you are at the back. This problem seems to only strengthen their determination to succeed which is their school motto. In my opinion determination is the key word of this project both from their side and ours, if it weren't for people's sheer determination and togetherness, none of this would have been able to happen.
We went to Uganda not only to bring them projectors and computers but also to set up a relationship between their school and ours so that we can help them in years to come. And so although I think we have made a big impact already, by giving the opportunity to learn with the help of technology, we need to keep thinking about the future projects with them and keep working together to achieve this goal.
Enough said about just the project, the students and teachers of Arua Public Secondary School are really great people. Everyone at the school was so helpful and generous; they really made me feel as if I was part of their society. What I found that really brought us together with the students of Arua Public was playing basketball with them. Although the court we helped set up over there wasn't perfect, it was one of the best games of basketball I have ever played.
So to summarise, I would say that it's been a really successful trip full of excitement and fulfilled expectations. But we mustn't forget the problems and challenges we face ahead.

What an amazing week! After months of planning, fundraising, speculation and more planning, we finally found ourselves at Arua Public Secondary School in northern Uganda.
The sights, the sounds, the smells and tastes of Arua were so different from the worlds we knew and so much for us to take in. Meeting so many new people who we can now call friends and sharing our stories with them helped to enrich our hearts and minds. To have experienced this world was educational; to have helped change it for the better was astounding and outstanding.
From the moment the school's staff and students met us at the airfield, we knew we were in for a very special experience. This was a week to work, not to take it easy. Our time at the school was hectic but rewarding; we spent every moment setting up equipment, teaching lessons, and conversing with our Ugandan peers.
I am so proud of the very real impact we had on the school, but especially of the achievements of our students, who took on the roles of teachers. Martina's biology lessons using the new microscope and projector were inspirational to many students, who now see science as an exciting possible career. Bob and Simon made learning physics enjoyable with their oscilloscope-based lessons, and also introduced basketball to the school for the first time. Suheon literally took mathematics out of the classroom and into the real world with his interactive lessons on distance and time.
My memories of this trip and of our accomplishments on it will surely stay with me forever. The new challenge that lies ahead will be making our collaboration with Arua Public Secondary School a lasting one as we hope to continue to work together in the years to come. This was never going to be easy, but then I find that few really worthwhile things in this life ever are.

'The fact I am highly pleased with is that the Uganda Project was beneficial to both of us. They learned how new technology can be applied to education and we learned their enthusiastic attitude toward education. Their thought is that education is the only way to improve their lives.
On average, there are more than 70 people in a class. When I attended a maths lesson, there were 100 students in a class and I was not able to listen to the teacher and read what he writes because I was at the back. However, every single student paid attention to the teacher and enjoyed learning.
Last but not the least, we altogether learned about each other and the different cultures. Therefore, I strongly believe that the project succeeded in not only charity but also shortening the cultural distance between each other. Materials simply come and go. However, our experience will be unforgettable in my life. We could not have done this if the whole school had not helped us. Finally I would like to thank every single student in EISP.'
