"DEBATNÍ LIGA na GJN" ve školním roce 2010 / 2011 pod vedením Ondřeje Timča

Zájemci o účast na ukázkové debatě v roli diváků hlašte se prosím v kabinetě cizích jazyků u L. Černé nebo R. Rejmíšové. Srdečně zveme i studenty prvních ročníků!

22. Mistrovství světa WSDC / Doha, Katar / 8. - 18. 2. 2010

Barbora Goláňová a Anthony Stalker, studenti Gymnázia Jana Nerudy (6.B a 3.C), se jako členové Českého národního týmu zúčastnili MISTROVSTVÍ SVĚTA V DEBATOVÁNÍ, které se letos konalo v Kataru.

"Český národní tým ve složení Barbora Goláňová (Gymnázium Jana Nerudy Praha), Jakub Langr, Jana Lohrová (oba Debatní klub Nad Alejí Praha), Šimon Podhajský (Open Gate Boarding School Babice) a Anthony Stalker (Gymnázium Jana Nerudy Praha) vyhrál 2 debaty z osmi základních kol (6 hlasů rozhodčích), což stačilo na 44. místo.

DEBATOVÁNÍ V KATARU
Katar má na svých středních školách velmi dobře fungující debatní kluby, rozvinutou síť debatních lig a zkušené debatéry a trenéry debatování. Navíc mají katarští studenti bohaté možnosti účastnit se mnoha mezinárodních debatních soutěží. Následující video natočené v Kataru (v anglickém jazyce) velmi poutavou formou osvětlí všem vážným zájemcům o debatování základní pravidla debaty.

Debatní klub na GJN vedl v loňském školním roce Ondřej Timčo. Klub se scházel jednou týdně; podrobnosti o jeho fungování pro příští rok uvedeme na začátku školního roku 2010/11.

Debatní klub Gymnázia Jana Nerudy
Debatní klub se rozšířil o několik dalších členů. Všichni se úspěšně zúčastnili v Liberci 1. kvalifikačního turnaje, kdy se v anglické lize umístil školní tým "Dully Dulls" ve složení Martin Dunaj, Nella Soušková a Barbora Goláňová (ze 4.B) na 1. místě a v české lize tým "Who Cares" ve složení Mariana Pípalová, Adéla Pudláková, Monika Vašíčková, Anička Šimerdová a Barča Kudějová (ze 4.B) na místě 8. Upřímně všem blahopřejeme a přejeme hodně dalších úspěchů!

What actually is DEBATING?
"Show Debate" - 19 September 2007

1)    In the debate you form a team of three.
2)    You get a motion and the judge tells you if you're the Affirmatives or the Negatives.
3)    The Negatives don't agree with the motion, the Affirmatives do.
4)    The arguments are the IMPORTANT thing.
5)    Each speaker except the 3rd has 3 min for XQ-cross questioning and 6 min for their speech. The 3rd speaker has 5 min for their speech.
6)    Presenting and tackling arguments are mostly the things that decide WHO  WINS.
7)    Every year you can go to 5-6 tournaments and also Youth Forum during the summer, which is FUN!
What is a MOTION?
   For example THAT:
   1)    Europe should abandon the concept of a welfare state.
   2)    It is in the EU's interest to accept Turkey.
   3)    The President should be elected directly in the Czech Republic.
   4)    The state should financially support arts.
   5)    We don't want any giant octopuses in Prague.
   6)    Chocolate is better than sex.
   7)    Homosexuals should be allowed to adopt children.
   8)    Positive discrimination can solve the problem of racism.
   9)    The Mašín´s brothers are heroes.
  10)    Marihuana should be legalized.
  11)    Euthanasia should be legalized.
  12)    Universities should be paid in the Czech Republic.
  13)    Science is a threat.
  14)    Fashion is harmful.
  15)    The Olympic Games should be held in Prague.
  16)    Abortion should be prohibited.
  17)    American culture is an oxymoron.
  18)    Dictatorship is better than democracy.
  20)   The 3rd World's debt should be cancelled.
  21)    Philosophy is not necessary today.
